PART 1: Saturday, July 8th at 7:00 pm - Take a Written Test on required reading material based upon your age group. Please see link above
PART 2: Sunday, July 9th - Ride the highest Dressage Test of your level - i.e. Intro B, Training 1, Training 3, First 3, etc. at either Hidden Creek show.
PART 3: Sunday, July 9th - Ride in a Dressage Seat Equitation Class of your level. (Note: if you do not ride your dressage test on Saturday, you may do so on Sunday in front of the same judge)
The individual pieces of the challenge will be pinned separately in addition to awards for the overall challenge placings in each level. The overall challenge placings will be determined by your competition level, not by your age. Only the Written Test portion will be pinned based upon age. Your age for the purpose of the challenge will be your age as of December 1st, 2021 per USEF rules. This year we will have the same judge for the dressage tests on both Saturday and Sunday to allow for a more level playing field.
The cost of participating in the challenge will be $40 in addition to the fee for your dressage test on Saturday or Sunday. To enter, simply enter the Hidden Creek Show on Saturday or Sunday and pay the usual entry fees for the dressage and/or combined training classes you enter. On your entry form, add "The Lendon Gray Challenge" along with your age (see above) and level. Make sure you include the additional $40 fee along with your regular entry fees.
If you would like to participate in the challenge but cannot trailer your horse in for both Saturday and Sunday, it may be possible to ride your equitation class on a Hidden Creek lesson horse - contact Jill at 570-977-1406 for more information.
