Edward Kuc
Owner
ESDCTA Bronze Medalist
Ed is one of the owners of Hidden Creek and an avid eventer. He currently competes his nine-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Balladeer ("Bally"), and his 15-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, Just Takin' Chances ("Chance"). He has won numerous ESDCTA Year-End Awards and NPASS Championships on both horses. Ed started riding as an adult, first on a friend's Clydesdale mare. When he bought Chance, he decided to try Western, competing in gaming before switching to team penning. While he eventually made the switch to dressage, eventing and combined training always interested him. The Kuc family purchased Dark Keioki ("Keioki") to use in lessons and as Ed's first event horse. Ed has since evented Keioki (who sadly passed away at 23 years old in 2012), Jessie's horse Against All Odds, and both Chance and Bally.
When he isn't at the barn, Ed spends his time as the owner and principle ecologist at Eastern States Environmental Associates. He graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Natural Resource Management and opened his business a few years later.
