NEW!!! Check lesson schedules online! http://www.hiddencreekequestrian.blogspot.com Hidden Creek Equestrian Center offers lessons for beginners through advanced riders of all ages. We offer instruction in both dressage and jumping on our reliable lesson horses or your own horse. For those students interested in showing, we hold open schooling shows at our facility. We also trailer students to dressage, combined training and eventing shows. Our trainers have many years experience in training students and horses as wells as extensive competition experience.
Lesson Options:
We offer several different lesson formats to meet the needs of our students. We start all beginners on and off a longe line in a half-hour private lesson ($35.00/lesson) to ensure that they have a secure foundation on which to build. Once they are ready to progress or for students who join us with prior riding experience, we offer the following options:
Leasing: Meet Our Lesson Horses:
Rufus:
Rufus is 14.1 hand Haflinger gelding. He is owned by Becky Kuc, but is active in our lesson program. Rufus is very calm and easy for beginner's to lean on, and he also shines in the show ring. Rufus has gotten scores up to 70% at Training Level, and was the winning school horse of Hidden Creek's perpetual "WK Fadl Atraction Award" (Highest scoring rider on a school horse) with Becky as his rider. Rufus has been to a lot of shows including Lendon's Youth Dressage Festival, where he placed 6th in his and Becky's division! Rufus is also a fantastic jumper.
Starlight: ![]() ![]() Starlight is a 15.1 hand Quarter Horse cross mare. She is very sweet and willing. She is a good jumper and also a great low-level dressage horse. Starlight has competed in the Region One Junior Team Dressage Championships, representing ESDCTA on the third place team! She has shown first level, scoring in the 60%'s. Skip, Zip and Zap:
Zip is a 15 hand Quarter Horse gelding. He loves to jump and has also proven to be a nice dressage horse. He started showing (with Bria Eick) in 2006, and got scores up to 65% at Training Level, making him Runner-up for the WK Fadl Atraction Award (Highest Scoring Rider on a School Horse) with Bria. He also won fifth place in Starter Walk/Trot/Canter for 2006 ESDCTA Year End Awards! Zip is fun for advanced riders and confident beginners.
Masquerade:
Kira is our newest school horse. She's a 15 hand Morgan cross mare with an excellent temperament. She's being tuned up in dressage and jumping, and has definite potential. She is extremely sweet and very calm, but can be challenging and talented enough for more experienced riders.
Dark Keioki:
Keioki isn't an active school horse, but she is used in a few lessons for advanced riders. Keioki is a 16 hand Holsteiner mare. She has been trained up through 3rd level and is currently capable of Second Level movements, but is used mainly for Eventing. Keioki was Third place in 2006 in Starter Eventing and has shown at Beginner Novice.
