Natalie riding Nemo with the help of working student Jessica

Hidden Creek Equestrian Center offers lessons for beginners through advanced riders of all ages.  We offer instruction in both dressage and combined training on our reliable lesson horses or your own horse.  For those students interested in showing, we hold ESDCTA and NPASS registered shows at our farm every summer.  We also trailer students to dressage and combined training shows and horse trials.  Our trainers have many years experience in training students and horses as wells as extensive competition experience.

Lesson Options:

We offer several different lesson formats to meet the needs of our students.  We start all beginners on and off a longe line in a half-hour private lesson ($40.00/lesson) to ensure that they have a secure foundation on which to build.  Once they are ready to progress or for students who join us with prior riding experience, we offer the following options:

  • One hour group lesson (3-4 students)
$40.00/student/lesson
  • One hour semi-private lesson (2 students)

$50.00/student/lesson
  • 1/2 hour private lesson
$40.00/lesson or $360/ten lesson package
  • 45-minute private lesson

  • Quadrille Lessons
$55.00/lesson

$15.00/lesson

  • Lessons can be paid for on a weekly basis

  • Discounts are available on prepaid packages of 10 lessons (that's one free lesson for every 10 purchased). You may also use one package of 10 lessons for two children from the same family - call 610.681.6111 or e-mail us for more details.

 Leasing:

In order to help our more advanced students with the transition from weekly lessons to horse ownership, we attempt to make available horses for lease. Half-leases, which allow the student to ride twice a week in addition to their regular lesson, are most common; however, occasionally full-leases are available as well.

Meet Our Lesson Horses:

I Found Nemo:

Nemo is 13 hand Appaloosa/Welsh pony cross.  He's a very enthusiastic jumper and despite his small size he can clear big fences like they are nothing!  Nemo is also an accomplished dressage pony.  He's competed through Training Level Dressage with numerous young riders and was recently Intro Level Reserve Champion with Georgia Skuza at our second show in May.  While Nemo is a great jumper and dressage pony for competitive riders, he's also fantastic for beginners and loves to teach little kids!  He is our resident leadline test pony - he had three leadline competitors at our last show! Nemo is pictured above in a dressage test with Grace Schierwagen in 2009,  and competing in a Combined Test with Ashley Coleman.

Duncan:

Duncan is a 16.2 hand Thoroughbred gelding who has been used in lessons for about a year with much success. He is half leased by working student Kelly Higgins and has received scores in the 60's at First Level already with her this year after helping her earn her ESDCTA Bronze Medal in 2009. Duncan likes dressage and jumping, and loves being ridden in quadrille lessons. While the more advanced riders like him, Duncan loves younger children too and is a big sweetheart. Duncan is pictured above with rider Ashley Coleman in a dressage test and Brooke Jodon after competing.

 Skip, Zip and Zap:

Zip is a 15 hand Quarter Horse gelding.  He loves to jump and has also proven to be a nice dressage horse.  He's scored through the 70's at Intro and the 60's through First Level as well!  Zip loves to show and is an all around fun horse to ride!  Zip competed in the NPASS Championships in 2009 in dressage and combined training with Stephanie Kurtz and Nichole Lerro, and was Reserve Champion in his combined test division.  He is pictured above at the 2009 Region One Junior Team Championships with Stephanie Kurtz, at a show with Haley Schierwagen, and jumping with Brooke Jodon. Zip is currently being half leased by Stephanie Kurtz, who is competing him at Starter w/t/c this year.

Starlight:

.Starlight is a 15.1 hand Quarter Horse cross mare.  She is very sweet and willing and a great, steady dressage horse for riders to learn on.  Starlight has scored in the 60's through First Level Dressage and has taken many riders to numerous shows at Intro and Training Level.  Starlight was ridden in the NPASS Championships in 2009 with Keri Leventhal and Ann Weintraub.  She is also a wonderful beginner school horse due to her patience and gentle nature.  She is pictured above in a dressage test with Keri Leventhal.

Masquerade:

Kira is a 15 hand Morgan cross mare.  She's easily the sweetest and gentlest horse in the barn!  Kira loves attention!  She's been a great project for a few advanced students for the past few years, and she's now taken on more riders including some of the younger ones.  Kira is a fantastic dressage horse and likes to jump as well.  She's been the highest scoring school horse for the past two years at Intro with scores in the 70's and does well at Training Level too. Kira went to the Region One Junior Team Championships for the first time in 2009 with Nicole Troia and loved the overnight show atmosphere!  Kira is pictured above with Nicole Troia at the Junior Team Championships in Virginia, and in a Training Level dressage test with Meagan Garner.
